Good Luck!

In the Philippines, a number of Chinese clans/families are predominantly Christian.

That's well and good. However, there's times when I'd hear certain Christian family members hiring 'geomancers' or consulting with various feng-shui "experts" to predict their good fortunes for the year. Excuse me if I'm wrong here, but aren't these people paid to tell you what you want to hear?

This has always troubled me, but maybe I'm just overthinking things.

  1. Well, i'm sure we all know naman that it's wrong. No one can predict the future.

“There should not be found in you anyone who . . . employs divination, a practicer of magic or anyone who looks for omens or a sorcerer, or one who binds others with a spell or anyone who consults a spirit medium or a professional foreteller of events or anyone who inquires of the dead. For everybody doing these things is something detestable to God.”—Deut. 18:10-12.

How you should react is i guess is just not to practice it. and if a believer in fortune telling asks you why, state why you dont believe - state your faith and belief in the One True God. Don't push, don't press and don't be overbearing. i remember reading a verse saying that you shouldn't press faith or religion unto a person - God has His own time for everyone. Worse, if you become to overbearing, the person might look on your faith (which is the truth and path to salvation) as false. And i'm pretty sure theres also a verse that says you will be punished for that - being a 'false witness'
